Blackboard Quick Tip: Add Learner Feedback to Manual-Entry Grades

Last week, we covered how to attach files to the feedback area of an assignment. Here’s how to attach a file to the feedback for a manual-entry grade (where the students didn’t upload anything electronically to Blackboard, but you want to return comments).

Find the cell for the student’s activity (scroll right past the category columns, if you have them) in Full Grade Center. Click the cell to see “View Grade Details” and click on that. (Don’t worry that there is no grade there.)

Click “manual override.”

x3The “feedback to learner” boxes appear. Type feedback here, or attach a file by clicking on the paperclip icon in the editing toolbar. That’s it!
