Faculty Insights: Teaching inspired by great teachers, passionate students

MCC culinary arts instructor Brian O’Malley went to college to learn architecture, but quickly realized that cooking was something he “could give (himself) to wholly” and find great satisfaction in. One of the great benefits to working in the culinary field, he says, is the chance to fail — over and over, in small ways — and then learn from those mistakes.

Inspired by devoted instructors and motivated by the “raw enthusiasm” of his students, O’Malley discusses his background and motivation as an instructor in a new installment of Faculty Insights, a YouTube series about MCC instructors and their advice for others, from the IDS Metro & More TV team.

Check back every Monday morning this summer for more “insightful” posts.
