ANGEL Tips: Course Import from Backup

As instructors start getting ready for the spring quarter, here are a few ANGEL guides for course content import.

It’s a good idea to have a recent backup available of all your courses, so it’s a best practice to save a backup toward the end of the quarter, if not before.

From within the course you want to back up, click on the Manage tab. Under Data Manager, click on Backup and Restore. From here, you can make a “just in case” backup as well as export your course content for later use. Download your backup as a zip file and then save it to a drive that you’ll have access to later.

Once you have a backup saved, it provides an easy way to restore course content for a future quarter, especially if it’s a course you’ve not taught for a few quarters. Here’s how to restore from a zip-file backup.

In the course (shell) you want to copy into, click on the Manage tab. Under Data Manager, click on Import Console.
